The Flaming Lips are an experimental rock group from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The band is known for their psychedelic sound and spacey lyrics. Elaborate live shows add to the band’s chaos. You can expect anything from costumes, video projections, complex lighting, confetti, balloons, and you might even see frontman, Wayne Coyne, in his human-sized plastic bubble. Their intricate live shows have earned them a spot on Q magazine’s “50 Bands to See Before You Die”. The Flaming Lips are three time Grammy winners as well. Embryonic, their next release, is due out in September.
