ARTS @ THE CENTER

Arts @ the Center is a collaborative project developed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Alliance Theater Company, and the High Museum of Art. Arts @ the Center provides teachers with tools to develop literacy strategies through music, visual arts and theater.

Arts @ the Center Components
  • An exploration of teaching strategies for literacy through visual art, music, and theater.
  • Teacher training for relating the arts to each other based on the elements of each.
  • Exposure to educational artistic performances and exhibitions as examples of the relatedness of the arts and their use towards literacy.
  • Exploration of the use of technology in performance and exhibition.
  • Encouragement of family involvement through school-based workshops, performances and exhibition opportunities.

On three occasions during the year, teachers will attend performances and exhibitions at each of the Woodruff Arts Center divisions, in preparation for acquainting students with the Center and its offerings.

For more information please call Susan Merritt at 404-733-5038.
