The
Talent Development Program was founded in 1993 by volunteer
members of the Atlanta Symphony Associates' Black Audience
Development Committee. Our goal is to support and nurture
talented musicians through private coaching, mentoring, and
performances. With the noted lack of minority representation
in the classical music genre, programs such as Talent Development
play an important role in developing young musicians so that
they can succeed in advanced musical training. This, in turn,
increases their potential for success as professional musicians.
The Talent Development Program is one of the many ways in
which the ASO is working to ensure that the Orchestra and
its audiences reflect our community's diversity.
The
Talent Development Program receives funding from several major
donors:
The
Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation
The Coca-Cola Partners in Performance Fund
Fulton
County Arts Council
The Goizueta Foundation Education Fund
Contributions
In-Kind are made by: Friendship Baptist Church, First Presbyterian
Church of Atlanta, Spelman College, Gourmet Foods Services
Inc., and Williams Gengakki Violins. These organizations with
the support of numerous other generous donors, allows the
program to continue.
