In 1967, in recognition of the potential of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Ford Foundation established a challenge grant of $1 million to create a permanent endowment. The matching funds of $1 million were raised in a five-month campaign.

Through its ongoing efforts, the ASO has augmented its endowment to a current market value of more than $30 million. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra gratefully acknowledges its named endowments below. They include:
