JUNE
| JULY | AUGUST The world's preeminent Irish
roots group is back, this time in concert with your ASO. "It's about the movies in
my mind," says the multiple Grammy/Dove honoree of his new instrumental
release, "Freedom." And it's a perfect showcase for Smith and the ASO.
Hailed by David Byrne and
Madonna and critically compared to Billie Holiday, this African Queen
of Morna (a rhythmic variation of the blues) is a world music superstar.
The teen guitar god can do
it all. Lang's two best-sellers, "Lie To Me" and "Wander This World,"
are the prodigious handiwork of a grizzled blues vet. "Constantly topping himself,
Gill just gets better and better" says People of the mega-star's "Let's
Make Sure We Say Goodbye." Alison Krauss-produced Nickel Creek opens.
Smooth-as-silk vocals delivered
by three of today's premiere R & B stylists. Downing and Moore were spectacular
last season, and Butler's buttery voice always enchants. Encore, encore: The inimitable
Mr. B returns, backed by the ASO. Super special, indeed. The boss Baja Men rule over
a reggae summit that'll be so Irie, Mon, you'll be jammin' in the
aisles. The "Red Dirt Girl" grabbed
a Grammy this year and a much-anticipated date at Country Chastain. Arguably
the centerpiece of this season's all-Americana dream lineup. Motown's monster groups are
as much a part of the Classic Chastain scene as candlelight and moonlight.
So of course they're back for another round of top-notch classics, tempting
new tracks, and good times all around. |
